Back Fit is a progressive exercise programme intertwined with advice and education for low back pain, guided by Chartered Physiotherapist, David Bowmaker.
Back Fit is for people who have an acute episode of back pain, chronic or recurring back pain, or who want to try and prevent back pain. The programme is for people who have non-specific low back pain (NSLBP).

Education is at the heart of the Back Fit programme. Following an initial lecture (discussing back pain, movement, function and what you can do to help yourself), you will be guided through a range of exercise options that can help your pain, give you the confidence to move, improve the function of your back.
This programme does not profess to cure ‘Back Pain’ as we do not feel that this is possible. Back pain is commonly a lifestyle issue and making changes to your lifestyle can have a significant positive impact on your pain and function. Back Fit will help identify the changes relevant to you that will help you on the journey to recovery.
The online Back Fit programme consists of 6 episodes spaced apart weekly to make sure you progress steadily:
Week 1 - Education and Positional Awareness
Week 2 - Movement, Posture and Muscle Activation
Week 3 - Progressive Loading and Movement
Week 4 - Progressive Loading
Week 5 - Spinal Flexibility and Control
Week 6 - Spinal Strength and Complex Movements
If you are interested in Back Fit, please enrol for the pre-course information above. This will involve a pre-screening questionnaire to ensure you are suitable for Back Fit. This pre-course screening is free and you won't be enrolled onto the actual Back Fit course until one of our clinicians has reviewed your pre-screening questionnaire.
If you are suitable for Back Fit, you will then be invited to purchase the course which costs £50.
